What a truly interesting evening we had with guest speaker Peter Alvey, who walked us through an impressive and diverse portfolio covering aviation, drone work, industrial construction, commercial projects, and healthcare photography. His talk gave us a real insight into how and why certain images are made, lifting the lid on the decisions, challenges, and creative thinking that sit behind each shot.

Peter also encouraged us to rethink some long-held assumptions about lenses and equipment. He reminded us that it isn’t the gear that makes the image — it’s the ability to notice, anticipate, and really see what’s in front of you. His perspective was refreshing and inspiring, leaving many of us reflecting on our own approach to photography and the importance of developing our eye just as much as our kit.
