Club Night - Messing Around In The Dark

Photo : Joanne Eastope

Another packed club night saw Joanne take us on a journey into the world of night photography, explaining her love of standing in a cold, dark field and waiting for the magic to happen. Her presentation covered everything from light painting and moon photography to star trails, the Milky Way, astrophotography, long exposures, and timelapse. She shared not just the final images, but gave members a clear sense of how these striking results are achieved. explaining both the practical techniques and the creative thinking behind her work.

It was a fabulous mix of superb images and generous guidance, packed with tips to inspire members of all experience levels. Joanne’s enthusiasm was infectious, reminding us that a lot of patience, preparation, and willingness to brave the elements can lead to truly magical results. It was also a reminder of the talent that exists within Ulverscroft Camera Club. Many left feeling motivated to give night photography a try, to step outside after dark, experiment for ourselves and most importantly of all … purchase some hand warmers !!
