Jan - Chairperson, Field Marshal & Instagram Empress :

Jan takes on the role of Chair as the club’s first female leader, bringing with her years of experience as a head teacher — so so rest assured, we’re all on our best behaviour now! Recently invited to Buckingham Palace (just another day at the office), Jan combines authority, warmth, and a knack for keeping everything running exactly as it should.When she’s not leading from the front, Jan can often be found deep in Napoleonic re-enactment mode, living life in a tent in a field and embracing history with full commitment. Back in the present day, Jan has a slight addiction to Instagram, proving she’s just as comfortable capturing the present as she is reliving the past. Whether commanding a meeting or a regiment, Jan leads with style, structure, and just the right amount of flair.

Mike & Mark – Programme Partners & Bag-Toting Photo Duo :

Mike and Mark have joined forces as our new programme secretaries, stepping in to plan an exciting calendar of talks, workshops, and photographic adventures. Long-time photo buddies, they are rarely seen without their impressively large camera bags — rumoured to contain enough kit to rival a small studio. Between them, they’re a double act of ideas, enthusiasm, and the occasional friendly debate about whose lens is bigger. With Mike and Mark in charge, you can expect our programme to be packed, polished, and maybe just a little fun !!

Karen - Treasurer & Puddle Photographer :

Karen, our treasurer, keeps the club’s finances in perfect balance …right down to the last penny. But outside of budgeting and payments, she’s best known for her unique approach to photography, which often involves standing fearlessly ankle-deep in puddles to capture the perfect shot on her iPhone. Rain or shine, Karen’s always finding beauty in the reflections (both financial and photographic)!

Phil – Equipment Guru & Keyholder to the Great Unknown :

Phil has taken over as our equipment manager and, as a newcomer to the club, is bravely getting to grips with the mysterious cupboard of kit that has been passed down through generations. Lenses, tripods, cables — you name it, Phil can probably find it… eventually. Just don’t be surprised if he also discovers the occasional mystery item whose purpose no one can quite remember. If you need gear, Phil’s your man — though you might have to endure a tale or two about where it’s been hiding all these years!

Megan - Health & Safety Officer & Rising Exhibition Star :

Megan takes over from Debbie as our Health & Safety Officer, bringing a calm, practical approach — no doubt shaped by her time leading the Cub Scouts, where being prepared is simply second nature. She also happens to have an impressively well-developed knowledge of local pubs, which may yet prove invaluable when planning routes for future outings! Relatively new to photography, Megan has already shown real determination by submitting an image to this year’s exhibition for the very first time. It’s a big step, and one that shows she’s not just looking after the club — she’s fully part of it, quietly building confidence and finding her own photographic voice along the way.

Dawn – Publicity Pro, Social Media Guru & Portrait Perfectionist :

Dawn has stepped into Pete’s shoes as our go-to publicity wizard, but she’s also bringing her own digital sparkle as the club’s social media guru. When she’s not keeping our Instagram buzzing with likes, shares, and witty captions, Dawn is busy perfecting the art of portrait photography. Armed with her camera and a natural knack for making people smile, she captures not just faces, but personalities. Whether it’s online or in the viewfinder, Dawn knows how to make us all look our best!

Jenny, Mark, Mike & Mike – Exhibition Dream Team & Masters of the Makeover :

Our brand-new Exhibition Committee has brought a wave of enthusiasm, fresh ideas, and a sprinkle of healthy disruption to the club’s annual showcase. With creativity flowing and change in the air, they’ve reimagined the exhibition from the ground up. Jenny, ever the voice of reason, has kept the two Mikes and Mark firmly on the straight and narrow (no easy feat when three creative minds are racing ahead at full speed!). Together, they’re proving that with the right mix of vision, teamwork, and just a dash of controlled chaos, this year’s exhibition will be one to remember.
