Club Event - Birds Of Prey Workshop

Following on from the success of previous years, the club recently held another bird of prey workshop, this time at a brand-new location. With eight photographers attending and five different birds to capture, the session provided plenty of action and variety. For many members, this type of photography was relatively new, making it a valuable learning experience as they explored moving into manual mode and taking greater control of their camera settings.

The workshop covered a range of techniques, including back button focus, selecting the most appropriate shooting modes, using fast shutter speeds, and applying exposure compensation. Members had the opportunity to photograph birds both in static positions and in flight, offering a rewarding and at times challenging experience. The morning concluded with a relaxed debrief at a local pub, where everyone shared their experiences, compared images, and enjoyed some well-earned social time together.
