Members were recently given a fantastic opportunity to try something a little different when invited to photograph the dress rehearsal of The Diary of Anne Frank at Mountsorrel Memorial Centre. The production provided a wonderful theatre set, with plenty of atmosphere and detail to capture. The challenging stage lighting certainly tested our photographers, requiring them to think on their feet, while the opportunity to capture the emotion and expressions on the actors’ faces made for some particularly rewarding images.
It wasn't all about photography, though! At times, members became so engrossed in the performance that they almost forgot they were there to take pictures in the first place. A number of the images were subsequently selected by the production company to help publicise the show, which was a fantastic bonus. All in all, a great opportunity to step outside our usual photographic subjects and experience something quite different.
