Club Night - Smartphone Photography

Photo - Karen Lund

According to research carried out by a UK photo store, 92.5 percent of all photos are now taken using smartphones, with a whopping 1.8 trillion photos taken every year. That equates to five billion a day or 57,246 photos taken per second !!

At Ulverscroft Camera Club we already have a number of members who prefer to use a smartphone rather than a more traditional camera, and our recent club night extended this approach to all members. Guest speaker Sara Reynard showed members how to set up their smartphones explaining the various manual controls available. She then covered more advanced composition techniques, together with some great free Apps that could be downloaded to edit the images.

The emphasis was very much on a hand on evening with members learning how  using your Smartphone to look for creative images, helps improve your photography generally, whatever camera you use.
